5 Manifestos Define Us

Manifestos Define Us

Here’s the fifth in a nine part series looking at the Manifesto Manifesto principles with a view to creating your own manifesto.

Manifestos create belonging. They shout ‘This is who we are!’ If this calls to you it will become your anthem, badge of honour and new identity.

Three questions to ask yourself when you sit down to start writing your manifesto relative to creating the future…

1 Define who you are

What’s that Who song? I think it’s the theme for CSI? Who? Who? Whoooooo are we? Anywho it’s something like that…

2 Define the standard you operate at

Sometimes the difference between ‘us’ and ‘them’ is the level that we operate at. It could be professional versus amateurs, geeks and beginners, players and spectators. What’s your quality standard?

3 Describe your new identity.

Are you mild mannered reporter Clark Kent or a muscle-bound super hero with x-ray vision? The more you sound out the look and feel of your ideal ‘us’ the more likely you’ll know who to attract and where to find them.

Work through these questions to start writing your manifesto. Share your results and/or ask questions in the comments below.
