Manifestos Inspire Being

Here’s the seventh in a nine part series looking at the Manifesto Manifesto principles with a view to creating your own manifesto.

Manifestos generate new meaning. They collect attitudes, align beliefs and provide a consistent worldview. This inspires new ways of being and new actions.

Five questions to ask yourself when you sit down to start writing your manifesto relative to creating the future…

1 Who do you want us to be?

Apple says ‘We Are the Crazy One’s and they want you to join them in pursuing your creativity and innovation.

2 What attitude do you want to promote?

Nike’s Just Do It is an attitude you can apply to your whole life.

3 How do you want us to act?

The Slow Movement wants us to take our time.

4 What values and beliefs do you hold?

Do you believe in God? Do you value racial equality? Do you favour freedom over tyranny?

5 What is true for you?

Google has a list of ten core principles that influence their culture.

Work through these questions to start writing your manifesto. Share your results and/or ask questions in the comments below.
