How to Turn Your Personal Manifesto Into a Six Figure Business

What if your personal manifesto could become a six- or even seven-figure business?

Stephen Covey did it.

His book,  The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, started as a personal philosophy — a personal manifesto — and went on to generate over $280 million in revenue.

(For the full Stephen Covey case study, read this: How Stephen Covey Built a $280M Empire from his Manifesto)

But here’s what most people miss:

Most manifestos don’t make any money.

They end up as inspiring PDFs that collect digital dust.

Why? Because a personal manifesto is just the foundation. It’s the starting point, not the finished product.

To help you monetize your expertise and turn decades of skills into repeatable income, today I’m sharing my signature method: The Manifesto to Money Bridge.

Read on — by the end of this post, you’ll have a clear roadmap to monetize your skills and turn your manifesto into money.

The River You Need to Cross

You’ve got the ideas. You’ve got the skills. But here’s the real reason they’re not paying you yet…

Monetizing your expertise is a lot like crossing a river.

On the left bank: you, with decades of experience, a manifesto in hand, and the desire to monetize your skills.

On the right bank: a thriving business with income, impact, and paying clients.

The problem? Most people never make it across.

What connects the two? A bridge.

And to build that bridge, you first need two strong pillars — one on each side of the river.

Pillar One: Manifesto

This is where most people get stuck — they have the philosophy but not the framework.

Your personal manifesto is your core belief about how to win in your area of expertise.

It’s the answer to: What’s the game you’re playing — and how do you win it?

  • I believe that to monetize your expertise, you must start with a manifesto.
  • I once worked with a football coach whose secret was: “You win the premiership off the field.”
  • And I helped a facilitator in New Zealand write a book built on his belief: “To make change happen, you must weave conversations and people together.”

What’s your unique insight about how your clients win?

That’s your first pillar — and it’s the starting point for monetizing your skills.

Pillar Two: Money

Inspiration is great… but your bank account doesn’t run on inspiration.

On the other side, the right bank is money, ie paying clients.

As Peter Drucker famously said, “The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer.”

Your manifesto might inspire people, but inspiration alone won’t pay the bills.,

To get paid, we need to connect those pillars — and that’s where the five planks of the Manifesto to Money Bridge come in.

Each plank is designed to help you monetize your expertise in a repeatable, sustainable way.

Plank 1: Angles

If you only share your big idea, you’re leaving money — and clients — on the table.

If you’ve written your manifesto, it probably starts with “I believe…” — but that’s just one angle. You need three:

  1. Statement – Your belief about how to win.
  2. Journey – The story of transformation. Where your clients start, the obstacles ahead, and the promised destination.
  3. Steps – A sequence to follow: “Do this first, then this…”

When people see these three together — belief, journey, and steps — they start to imagine themselves winning.

That’s the first spark that leads to paying clients and helps you monetize your skills.

But before you can sell, you have to overcome a big obstacle — The Expert’s Curse.

Plank 2: Reframe

If you’ve ever wondered why people don’t ‘get’ what you do, this is why…

The Expert’s Curse is that you know and love your solution.

You’ve spent years perfecting it — and naturally, you want to talk about it.

But here’s the problem: clients don’t buy solutions. They buy outcomes.

I know you need a manifesto to monetize your expertise.

But you’re not lying awake at 3 am thinking, “I need a manifesto.”

You’re thinking:

  • How do I find my next client?
  • How do I get paid more?
  • And how do I stand out as a thought leader?

That’s why you must reframe:

Stop talking about your solution — start speaking to their problem.

Use the simple formula: I help X do Y so they can Z.

When you speak their language, you open the door to monetizing your skills.

But unless you take this next step, your manifesto will remain just a good idea.

Plank 3: Validate

Here’s the simple test to know if your idea is worth betting your business on.

Don’t guess — test.

Put your angles and reframes into content and conversations:

  • Share posts, short videos, or articles.
  • Talk directly to potential clients.

If people lean forward, ask questions, and want to know more, you’re onto something that will monetize your expertise.

Once your idea passes the test, it’s time to turn it into something people can actually buy.

Plank 4: Package

Your expertise isn’t a business until it’s inside a buyable package.

Shape your idea into a clear, sellable offer.

  1. What’s the specific offer?
  2. Who’s it for?
  3. How will you deliver it?
  4. How will you price it?

Start with the low-hanging fruit — the easiest, fastest offer to deliver and get paid for now. 1:1 coaching is often the quickest path.

Later, you can add higher-leverage offers — group programs, workshops, keynotes — to fully monetize your skills.

But even the best offer is worthless until you do one more thing…

Plank 5: Present

This might be your scariest step… but it’s also the one that gets you paid.

Make the offer.

Don’t hide behind free content forever — invite people to work with you.

This can be as simple as starting with phone calls, moving to coffee meetings, and then making a clear offer.

If it genuinely solves a problem, it’s not pushy — it’s the final step in monetizing your expertise.

Your Action Plan

That’s the Manifesto to Money Bridge:

  1. Angles – Statement, Journey, Steps
  2. Reframe – Speak to their problem, not your solution
  3. Validate – Test through content & conversations
  4. Package – Shape into a paid offer
  5. Present – Make the offer

Which of these five steps do you need to take action around today?
